Chinoiserie revamp cabinete 3

Now the design has been applied I hope you can make it out as I only draw it faintly
Now for the relief work I enjoy doing this as it gives the design real definition and although it makes the project look really good it is only one of the early stages and there are many more to go
Halfway through this I'm hoping to finish it tonight.
It seems to be going really well I'm soooooooooo loveing it

Meanwhile here is a cushion that I stencilled and quilted and added a few glass beads.Quilting is such a relaxing craft

Wednesday 16 October 2013

Here below are my doors with all paint etc removed, doesn't it look horrid?

It look;s very scratched but in fact I have given it a good sanding after stripping of all the paint
and decoration.
I'm hoping that I have enough paint to finish it all as I've used quite a lot on other job's maybe
I'll thin it a bit to make it go further

Doors now painted, I really love this colour although it will be slightly darker when it's finished
I also think the hinges are fabulous really chinoiserie looking, there is another piece to go over the lock
if I can remember where it is.

This is my most favourite chinoiserie fabric it's Jane Churchill Cathay Gardens printed in 1996
but all I have are a few remnants as it is not printed any more. There was a pair of curtains on ebay once
but they were the wrong colour. I used it for the design on the clock test and the piano.I thought about using it for the cabinet but have decided to use some original antique designs I have instead.
 Hope to get started Tomorrow

                   Revamping my Storage Cabinet

After seeing this beautiful Cabinet on  chinoiseriechic.blogspot  which is a great blog all about Chinoiserie                         style, including furniture and fabrics, I knew I was going to paint my craft cabinet just like it.

I already had a cabinet painted in a similar colour. Annie Sloane's chalk paint Aubusson blue.Love it.
Well I had painted the doors and put a quick finish on it. (below)The rest is awaiting as I didn't like what I had done.
But now I am inspired
It's just an old t v cabinet, nobody seems to want them anymore as the new wide t v's wont
fit into them, there too wide. Put a plywood back on them and there great storage

I'v painted a test on the side of a clock I bought from an a Church auction Quite like the affect.
So as soon as I'v cleaned the old finish off , hopefully tomorrow I'll be repainting

March 2013 miniatures plus

I wish I could work out how to make a fab blog but I cant seem to get to grips with it.
or have the time to work it out. I just hope you can see and read all this
Here goes.

This is my stall at Miniatura Birmingham N E C with my beautiful assistant Pam who always helps me
and we have a great weekend. like a mini holiday(must change the date on my camera)
We did quite well but was amazed at the amount triptics we sold, Chinoiserie and fairy.
Also had loads of suggestions for others Victorian and Edwardian ladies also Chinoiserie scenes.

This next picy is of my beautiful tidy workroom He He He, I call it the do it all room
as we watch telly, do crafts, play the piano (still doing the lessons)
Eat and look out at the garden
When I was at the N E C I bought a 1/48th house kit from Petite Properties
as if i,v not enough to do but they were so cute. I have almost finished it and I have used Annie Sloane paints so I can say I'v painted my complete house in Annie Sloane
This has made me look at some of my unfinished projects one being a small clock
it's to big  for 1/48th and too small for 1/12th will try 1/24th?
i'm making a floor from coffee stirers and french polishing them
On a different subject last year I lost 11 of my lovely chicken to a FOX it upset me greatly but life goes on
and as its Easter I thought you might like a picy of my new batch of chicks

Thats all for Today folks as I'v to lock the chicken up I would love to here from anyone? any input would be good Happy Easter God Bless

kensington dolls house festival Christmas

I have been accepted to have a stall at the Kensington Dolls House Christmas Festival on November 24th
I'm really exited about this although it will be quite a test getting there as I cant drive to London. So myself and my beautiful assistant ( my friend Pam ) will be travelling on the coach or train (haven't decided yet ) with two great big suitcases
Above is a picture of a new design mini room box.I'v tried to give the effect of an Adams plaster room.
It will have either a wood or mock marble floor and a pair of decorated doors at the front so that it looks like a treasure chest. The handle on the top allows it to be carried around from room to room. Neat eh?
Let me know what you think.
The Chick inside is one of 14 that I have reared from eggs they are Banton Pekins And some I hope are Frizzles, but more of these in a future blog as I need to take some pictures.
This is a new colour I'm trying it really gives  zing to a room

And this is a new design in duck egg blue, I think its very pretty ' I'll probably do it in other background colours pale blue, pink, lilac?
Cheer's for now going to clean out the Chicks

stencils

This month I have started stenciling again but applying it to fabric. These are a few cushions I have made I just had to decorate some of them with beads.
This is a really calming hobby and you can match colours to fit in with your interior design.
The bird and blossom stencil is from  www.stencil-library.com
